It depends on back focus. A binoviewer adds optical path length, and some telescopes cannot rack far enough in to compensate without a corrector. Tell us your model and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.

For most people, yes, and more than for night observing. Solar sessions are long and bright, and observing with both eyes removes the squint and the eye strain that makes an hour at the eyepiece tiring.

Because you cannot look along the tube to aim at the Sun. The SunLock projects a spot so you can align safely without ever putting your eye in the light path. It is not a convenience item.

It shortens the effective focal length, which widens the field and speeds up the optical system for imaging, and it flattens the field so stars near the edge stay round rather than stretching.
