View full detailsExplore Scientific build across the whole range — the telescope, the mount it sits on, the eyepieces you look through and the case it travels in. That matters more than it sounds: the dovetails match, the focusers take the same accessories, and the eyepiece series share eye relief so swapping between them does not mean re-finding the eye position every time.
The line runs from a $99 National Geographic-class starter reflector up to a 150mm ED giant binocular, taking in the Hoya FCD1 and FCD100 apochromatic refractors, the classic solid-tube Dobsonians, the PMC-Eight GoTo mounts and the 62° through 120° waterproof eyepiece series along the way.
We are an authorized dealer. Everything on this page is new stock with the manufacturer's warranty, and we will tell you plainly when a cheaper model in the range is the better buy.

Every Explore Scientific product here is new, boxed and carries the manufacturer's limited warranty, activated on registration within 60 days.
If you tell us what you want to observe and from where, we will tell you which of these fits — including when the answer is a less expensive one. Call +1 (855) 501-0541.
Tubes, mounts, eyepieces and cases designed to work together rather than adapted to.
New stock with full warranty, priced at the manufacturer's advertised price.
If a cheaper model in the range does what you want, that is what we will tell you.
Every Explore Scientific product on this page ships free within the United States.
Four families cover almost everything the brand does. The counts are what we have in stock today.
Apochromatic and achromatic refractors, solid-tube Dobsonians, Newtonians and a Maksutov-Cassegrain.
The waterproof, argon-purged series that made the brand's name, from 52° to 120° apparent field.
The BT series — observatory aperture in a two-eyed instrument, from 70mm to 150mm ED.
PMC-Eight GoTo mounts, alt-azimuth mounts, ST-series tripods and the cases cut for their own telescopes.
The models people most often choose between. Prices are the current price on this site.

Aperture is the single biggest predictor of what you will see. Focal ratio and glass type decide how it looks and how easily it images.
Three routes through the range, depending on what you are trying to see.
Contrast and steady high magnification matter more than raw aperture. Start with the refractors.

What we get asked about the brand.
Yes. Everything on this page is new stock supplied through Explore Scientific, boxed, and carrying the manufacturer's limited warranty. That warranty is activated by registering the product within 60 days of purchase.
Both are air-spaced triplet apochromats. The Essential Series uses Hoya FCD1 glass; the FCD100 series uses Hoya FCD100, which controls colour more tightly. On the Moon and bright planets the FCD100 shows less residual colour, and for imaging it gives a cleaner star field. For visual use at moderate magnification the difference is real but modest.
The 62° series is the value sweet spot and has long eye relief, which matters if you wear glasses. The 82° series is the classic wide-field choice and is particularly good on an undriven Dobsonian, where a wider apparent field means longer between nudges. The 100° and 120° are immersive but heavy and expensive.
Generally yes. The saddles are Vixen-style, which most small and mid-size tubes use. Saddle depth does vary between manufacturers, so send us both models and we will confirm before you order.
Tell us within a few days and we handle it. Everything ships free, and the warranty is the manufacturer's, not a store policy we can quietly decline to honour.
The Explore Scientific range crosses several categories. These are the pages for each.
