Flat Field Views With Etalon Grade Coatings
Lunt eyepieces for solar viewing use flat field designs with 0.1 percent anti reflective coatings, the same coatings applied to Lunt etalons. Low reflectivity matters on the Sun, where a bright disk in a narrow band can throw ghosts and haze, and the flat field keeps detail sharp from the center to the edge.
Five fixed focal lengths are offered: 8 mm, 12 mm, 16 mm, 19 mm and 27 mm. A 7.2 mm to 21.5 mm zoom covers that middle range in one barrel, with 15 mm eye relief and a field of view that runs from 53 degrees at the short end to 40 degrees at the long end.
Every eyepiece uses a 1.25 inch barrel, so it drops into Lunt solar telescopes, blocking filter holders and white light wedges, and works at night as well. The LSEPSET bundle gathers five eyepieces in one set. Always observe the Sun through proper solar filtration, since an eyepiece provides none on its own.
