Sun and Stars Through One 130mm Lens

The Lunt LS130MT puts a 130 mm precision aligned APO triplet in front of you, built from FLP51 extra low dispersion glass with ion assist broadband coatings. Fit the modular hydrogen alpha module for solar work, then remove it and change the backing plate when you want the same aperture pointed at the night sky.

Solar performance rests on the internal etalon and the Lunt Pressure Tuner. Single stack gives you under 0.65 Angstrom at 656.28 nm, and adding a double stack module brings that under 0.45 Angstrom. Barometric pressure tuning shifts the passband instantly, so filaments, plage and prominences can each be brought to peak contrast without touching the tilt of any optic.

With 910 mm of focal length at f/7, the LS130MT reaches a theoretical maximum magnification of 225x and produces a solar disk large enough to fill a modern sensor. The standard package pairs a 12 mm blocking filter with a 2 inch Feather Touch focuser, and 18 mm or 34 mm filters are available where a wider field is needed.

Lunt LS130MT 130mm universal day and night telescope with tube rings and dovetail

Key Features

  • 130mm APO Triplet - in FLP51 extra low dispersion glass, precision aligned and coated with ion assist broadband anti-reflection layers.
  • Day and Night - operation comes from the modular design: the hydrogen alpha module and focuser lift off for full night time refractor use.
  • Doppler True Tuning - through the Lunt Pressure Tuner shifts the passband across 656.28 nm instantly, with no tilt and no sweet spot.
  • Double Stack Ready - drops the bandpass from under 0.65 Angstrom to under 0.45 Angstrom for higher surface contrast.
  • Feather Touch Focus - is included in the standard package as a 2 inch dual speed unit, with Crayford and rack and pinion alternatives offered.
  • Field Ready Package - adds CNC tube rings, a Vixen style dovetail, a red dot sun finder handle and an aluminum finished hard case.
