Cut Background Glow In Double Stack Systems
The High Resolution Glass upgrade is an optional element for a Lunt internal double stack system. It targets the faint background glow that internal double stack modules produce, and it does that without changing how the double stack tunes or how narrow the passband becomes. You keep the 0.5 Angstrom or better bandwidth and gain a cleaner background.
Three versions match three double stack systems. The HRG/80 fits the double stack filter on an 80THa. The HRG/100 fits the double stack filter on a 100THa. The HRG/SFPT fits the internal SFPT module used on the 80MT and 100MT universal telescopes. Choose the one that matches the module already on your telescope.
Imagers benefit most. With less scattered light in the field, prominences at the limb separate from the sky background and edge detail holds together at higher stretch. Visual observers see a darker field around the disk as well. Each unit ships at about one pound, so it adds no meaningful load to your mount or your balance.
