Grab And Go Hydrogen Alpha Solar Viewing

The Lunt LS40THa is the smallest aperture telescope in the Lunt dedicated solar line, built around a 40 mm custom doublet optimized for the 656 nm hydrogen alpha wavelength. At 400 mm focal length and f/10, it delivers a solar disk of roughly 4.0 mm at prime focus, which suits both relaxed visual sessions and imaging with a small sensor.

Tuning is handled by tilting the internal dedicated etalon, which shifts the passband instantly so you can move between prominences on the limb and structure on the face of the disk. Single stack bandpass sits below 0.45 Angstrom, and adding a double stack module narrows that to below 0.29 Angstrom for higher contrast on filaments and active regions.

Choose a 5 mm, 6 mm or 12 mm blocking filter and either the 1.25 inch mini helical focuser or a Feather Touch upgrade, depending on the eyepieces and cameras you plan to use. A built in TeleVue Sol Searcher makes acquisition quick, and the mounting foot lets you drop the tube onto a light photo tripod in seconds.
