The Lunt LS152THa is a dedicated hydrogen alpha instrument built around a 152 mm unobstructed refractor and a single interference HD etalon. Nothing sits in the light path to soften contrast, so the system performs at both low and high magnification. High contrast coatings run through the optical train to keep scatter down across the full solar disk.
Doppler True pressure tuning is the reason this telescope behaves differently from tilt tuned designs. The internal etalon holds a bandpass below 0.45 Angstrom at 656 nm, and the pressure tuner shifts it toward and away from you. Follow a filament from base to tip and watch its structure move through the line, adding depth to what you see.
At 900 mm and f/6 the LS152THa suits visual observers and imagers alike. Choose a B1200 diagonal for visual work, a B1800 diagonal for a wider field, or a B3400 straight through unit for large sensors, and step up to a 2.5 inch Feather Touch focuser in the top configuration. An optional Ca-K module opens a second wavelength.
