Why these work together
The AR102 is sold as an optical tube only. It arrives beautifully equipped — a two-speed 2-inch Crayford focuser, a 99% dielectric 2-inch diagonal, an 8x50 finder — and completely unusable, because there is nothing to stand it on. The 26mm at 25x frames the entire Moon with room to spare and sweeps the Double Cluster comfortably; the 9mm at 74x is where an f/6.5 achromat does its best work — craters along the terminator, the cloud belts on Jupiter, and splitting close double stars. Both are sealed and argon-purged, so they will not fog over on the damp nights when the seeing is often at its best.
