Why these work together
A Dobsonian does not track. That single fact should drive every eyepiece decision you make for one, and it is the reason the 82° Series eyepiece is in this bundle rather than something cheaper. On an undriven mount, an object crosses the field and disappears; how long you get before you have to nudge the tube depends entirely on how much sky the eyepiece shows. An 82° apparent field gives you roughly twice the drift time of a narrow-field eyepiece at the same magnification — twice as long looking, half as much fiddling.
At the telescope’s 1219mm focal length, the 82° 14mm works at 87x. That lands squarely in the gap the supplied eyepieces leave open between 49x and 122x, and 87x is the power most deep-sky objects actually want: enough scale to resolve the outer stars of a globular cluster, still wide enough to hold the whole Andromeda core and its dust lanes in one view. The 62° 26mm sits at 47x as your sweeping and star-hopping eyepiece, sealed and argon-purged so it survives a night of falling dew without fogging.
The red flashlight is the piece people leave until last and then wish they had bought first. An 8-inch Dob finds things by star-hopping, which means looking at a chart every few minutes — and one glance at a white phone screen costs you twenty minutes of dark adaptation and most of the faint detail you came out for.
