The Lunt LS100MT gives you two telescopes in one tube. A 100 mm professional grade APO triplet with FPL53 glass and ion assist broadband coatings handles the night sky, while a modular hydrogen alpha etalon drops into the same optical path for full disk solar viewing. Swap the module and focuser, and the instrument changes role in minutes.
On the Sun, the internal etalon delivers a bandpass below 0.65 Angstrom in single stack form and below 0.45 Angstrom when double stacked. Doppler True barometric pressure tuning lets you shift across the hydrogen alpha line at 656.28 nm, so prominences, filaments, active regions and surface granulation each come into their best contrast as you tune.
At 714 mm focal length and f/7, the LS100MT reaches a theoretical maximum magnification of 175x and pairs well with a wide range of eyepieces and cameras. Choose a 12 mm, 18 mm or 34 mm blocking filter to match visual work or large sensor imaging, then pick a dual speed Crayford, rack and pinion, or Feather Touch focuser.
