Lunt LS230THa 230mm Double Stack Solar Telescope
Five Units of 230mm Double Stack Aperture
The Lunt LS230THa is the largest dedicated hydrogen alpha telescope Lunt has offered, and only five units are being built. A 230 mm FLP51 air spaced doublet sits behind a custom infrared reflective coating that sheds thermal load before it reaches the etalons. This is a solar only instrument, designed without compromise for the chromosphere.
Double stacking is standard. Two independently tuned etalons run in series, one at 0.6 Angstrom and one at the new generation 0.35 Angstrom specification, hand matched per unit for a combined bandpass near 0.30 Angstrom. A High Resolution Glass filter removes off band continuum glow, so the background goes genuinely dark and chromospheric structure carries its full contrast.
Two PC-USB Pressure Tuner controllers ship with the telescope, one per etalon, each accurate to 0.3 PSI with more than twelve hours of internal battery. Because both etalons must track together, remote closed loop control lets you record tandem pressure positions and return to them exactly on a later session. Lead time runs about six months.
Key Features
- 230mm Unobstructed - aperture in an FLP51 air spaced doublet, the largest dedicated solar refractor offered to the public.
- Double Stack Standard - pairs a 0.6 Angstrom etalon with a new generation 0.35 Angstrom unit for roughly 0.30 Angstrom combined.
- Hand Matched Per Unit - means every etalon pair is individually assembled and verified on precision metrology equipment before shipping.
- HRG Filter - removes off band red and orange continuum, giving a dark background and maximum chromospheric contrast.
- Dual PC-USB Control - supplies one Lunt Pressure Tuner controller per etalon, accurate to 0.3 PSI with automatic temperature compensation.
- Limited Edition - production is capped at five instruments with a lead time of about six months, and the run will not be repeated.
